Fukuyama Municipal Zoo
This zoo is located 15 km northwest from the Fukuyama urban area. It houses about
350 animals of 57 species such as Asian elephants, giraffes, and penguins. Many
families and groups visit here.

Kibitsu Shrine
The Ichinomiya of Kibitsu Shrine, which is said to have been built in 806,
is a designated historic spot in Japan, and the main shrine and wooden
guardian dogs are designated as nationally important cultural properties.
The Ichidate Big Festival, considered a reproduction of a Fukuyama medieval
market scene, and Setsubun Festibal / Hodan Shinto ceremony (Horafuki Shinto
Ceremony), are held annually in November and on February 3rd, respectively,
with many worshippers visiting the Shrine.

Susanoo Shrine
This old shrine originates from the Menowa tradition. It is also referred to as
Gionsan or Tennosha and attracts widespread popularity. The gate along the prefectural
road was the castle gate and was transferred from Sagata Castle. |

Fujio-no-taki Falls
The Fujio falls consist of three waterfalls downstream from Fujio Dam; the 12-meter-high"Ichi-notaki"
(first waterfall), the 24-meter-high"Ni-no-taki" (second), and the 8-meter-high
"San-no-taki"(third). The splendor of the pounding falls contrast to
seasonal tints, such as spring greens and autumnal colored leaves, provides wonder
to the eye. |
